Franco Colapinto was on the wrong end of Hamilton‘s rude gesture after an opening-lap tangle in Sunday’s Grand Prix.
Hamilton tried to go around the outside of Colapinto at Turn 11 but the Alpine star refused to go quietly, and the pair made contact.
The damage to Hamilton’s Ferrari cost him an estimated half a second’s worth of downforce per lap for the rest of the race.
And it seemed like the Brit knew he was in for a tough afternoon as he took out his rage on the Argentine.
While speeding past on the straight, Hamilton flipped the bird at Colapinto with his right hand.
The seven-time world champion went on to finish seventh – later upgraded to sixth due to team-mate Charles Leclerc‘s 20-second penalty – as Kimi Antonelli claimed victory for Mercedes and Colapinto came home an impressive P7.
Footage of Hamilton swearing at Colapinto on lap one subsequently did the rounds on social media.
And fans of the F1 veteran lapped it up.
Another said: “Honestly, we need more of this. Not just from Lewis, but in general.”
